Matthew Stanton is an Australian artist, educator and director of photography working primarily within the mediums of still photography, 16mm film and video. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. Stanton was a participating artist in the inaugural Bristol Biennial (UK) in 2012 and held his first solo exhibition ‘Deep North’ at Wallflower Photomedia Gallery in Mildura in 2015 which was followed by ‘Conversation Piece’ at MARS Gallery in 2016. His most recent solo suite of works from the series ‘Deep North’ was exhibited at the Centre for Contemporary Photography in 2019.

Stanton has been a finalist in the National Photography Portrait Prize (2007), The Perth Centre for Photography Iris Award (2018) and Clip Award (2019) and has photographic works held in the collections of the Museo de la Ciudad de Cuernavaca (Mexico) and the Geelong Gallery.
