Ken Smith has undergraduate and post graduate qualifications from the Victorian College of the Arts and a Master of Arts from Monash University. Since graduating he has created imagery using drawing, printing and painting processes. He has held 14 solo exhibitions and participated in over 80 group exhibitions. Smith’s work is held in private and public collections including: Artbank; Art Gallery of Ballarat; Ballinglen Museum of Art; Bundaberg Arts Centre; Commonwealth Bank; Devonport Gallery and Arts Centre; Grafton Regional Gallery; Leeuwin Estate, McPherson’s Ltd; Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery; The Hutchins School. Smith has had numerous research papers published in international journals and forums and he was a lecturer in Drawing in Monash University’s Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture and since retiring from this position has held residencies at the National Art School, Sydney, the Bundanon Trust, Illaroo and The Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ireland.
