Acacia dealbata  2009
hoop pine, beeswax & acrylic
100 x 100 cm

Acacia Dealbata is from series of artworks I describe as ‘router drawings’, whereby I use a power tool to carve into hoop pine plywood, which I have painted with acrylic and beeswax, to reveal its internal layers. I have drawn upon classical patterns to inform this low-relief piece which, through the process of its construction, transforms into abstraction.
