De Lacy throws her cups using a stoneware clay on the wheel. She applies white porcelain slip with a large brush over the base clay. She wants the cup to look like a canvas with gesso applied. The landscapes are painted with layers of watery underglazes, while the clay is still soft. The cups absorb the colour and subtle marks are made by the artist’s touch.

De Lacy uses the view from her studio window as inspiration. Each cup is unique, but has glimpses of the wild forests, rolling hills and blue mountains of the Kinglake Ranges.
