Collection: HANNAH LEWIS

Hannah Lewis is a Balnarring-based printmaker inspired by her passion for Australian native plants and a love of the bush and its complex ecologies.

From 2004 - 2019 Lewis invested her creativity into secondary school education, developing passion-based learning to ‘change the landscape and mindset’ of the educational setting through horticultural, art and design-based projects. Lewis is motivated by a fundamental belief in the power of art and nature to inspire, motivate, restore, and heal.

Lewis transitioned away from education in 2019 to focus on her art practice and develop her garden Hannah’s Paddock, as a showcase for edible native and indigenous plants. Increasingly Lewis is driven by a sense of urgency in her art making to highlight the desecration of the natural world by recording the beauty and fragility within the landscape.

In 2022 Lewis completed a residency at the Police Point Artist in Residence Program facilitated by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.
